I thought that the first two times we received this award and it made me tear up, it was because I was so happy. But after a third time, I know it's because all the hard work that goes into meeting the requirements has been recognized and validated. I'm so proud to -once again- say the GRISD art program is in the top 5% of art programs in the state. This doesn't happen by accident- we have an amazing team: teachers, students, and administrators and staff (from the custodial that helps clean up our crazy messes and stock us with all the paper towels to the budgeting, bus drivers hauling us to competition and field experiences, and purchases done by Tommy & Kayla) and community (The Glynn, Lion's Club, Ann Carver at Barnards Mill, GRW&A) giving students opportunities to shine.
